The man of the left is the U.S. Marines’ “Movie Man,” Quartermaster Sergeant Leon H. Calverly, formerly with Mutual Weekly and Fox newsreels.
In late summer 1918 he was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant and became head of the photographic department, 2nd Division.
